Principals Academy recently hosted a professional development programme for school leaders from Belgium and the Netherlands. The week-long engagement included insightful school visits and workshops focused on inclusive education and evidence-based practices.
Participants visited a Special Needs Education school to learn about strategies for supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive classrooms. A general education secondary school visit followed, offering a look into curriculum planning, student engagement, and effective teaching strategies.
Workshops complemented the visits. One session explored empowering student ownership in learning, offering practical tools to promote student agency. Another addressed inclusion and diversity, discussing how schools can create equitable learning environments for all. The programme concluded with a session on implementing evidence-based practices to drive school improvement and student outcomes.
A free-and-easy segment allowed time for reflection, networking, and self-directed learning. This thoughtful blend of theory and practice provided participants with actionable insights to bring back to their home contexts.
