General Ability Test (GAT)

GAT is a standardized assessment of an applicant's general reasoning ability, and it measures learning capacity, observational skills and problem solving ability.

Schools and educational institutions utilize GAT to streamline psychometric testing procedures for admission exercises and to identify students and select them for extension programmes. In addition, GAT can be applied to the general student cohort to diagnose students who may need special attention. This information can be used to set realistic goals and planning effective programmes and to address areas of weaknesses and strengths for individuals or within an applicant cohort.
