Professional Learning Programme for Himachal Pradesh Educators

From 14 to 19 April 2025, Principals Academy was honoured to host a delegation of 70 principals and lecturers from the state of Himachal Pradesh, India, for a comprehensive professional learning programme held in Singapore. The week-long programme was designed to deepen participants’ understanding of innovative pedagogical practices and provide exposure to the Singapore education system.

Participants took part in workshops that explored how educators can enhance teaching and learning impact in the classroom. The sessions focused on effective instructional strategies, reflective practices, and techniques to foster student engagement and improve learning outcomes. Another key focus of the programme was on engaging students through experiential learning, with an emphasis on inquiry-based and problem-based learning approaches. These sessions highlighted how such pedagogies can promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative learning among students.

To complement the workshops, participants also visited several schools to gain first-hand insights into the structures and systems underpinning Singapore’s education landscape. The school visits allowed the delegates to observe classroom practices, interact with local educators, and better understand how policy, leadership, and infrastructure support student achievement in Singapore.

Throughout the programme, participants had the opportunity to engage in professional dialogue and exchange perspectives with their Singaporean counterparts. These conversations fostered mutual learning and opened doors for future collaboration. The programme concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony to recognise the participants’ active involvement and commitment to educational excellence.
