Ms Claire Kelly

Claire Kelly is a teacher of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), having trained at the University of Oxford and Bangor University respectively. She has taught mindfulness to adults in diverse settings, including the NHS, Multi-Academy Trusts, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, to clinical and educational psychologists, in universities such as University College London, King’s College London, and the University of East Anglia, as well as on public courses. In addition, she has trained teachers in the UK, Ireland, Thailand, and Hong Kong to deliver mindfulness-based courses to staff and students in educational and youth-based contexts.

With over 25 years of experience in education, primarily at the secondary and further education levels, Claire has worked extensively to integrate mindfulness into learning environments. She previously served as Director of Curricula and Training for the UK charity Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP), where she developed and trained teachers to deliver mindfulness-based programmes for both adults and young people in school and youth settings.

Currently, Claire is the Director of Teaching and Training for Oxford Mindfulness, overseeing courses and events for individuals new to mindfulness as well as those seeking to train as mindfulness teachers. These programmes include the 8-week Mindfulness for Life course, Finding Peace in a Frantic World, and the 3-session Introduction to Mindfulness programme.

As both a teacher and trainer with Oxford Mindfulness, Claire works alongside the team to make mindfulness learning and teacher training as accessible as possible to people from all walks of life.
