Leading with Presence for Education Leaders: Enabling Learning and Change

Senior leaders in education today face a wide range of challenges including technological change, increased accountability, and shifting societal expectations. These demands can weigh heavily on those who are deeply committed to leading with care and integrity.

School leaders and key personnel are uniquely positioned to help their teams navigate the shifts and changes these challenges demand. Their presence, behaviours and values influence not only outcomes but also the emotional and relational tone of entire communities.

This workshop offers senior educators an opportunity to step back, reconnect with their core values, and explore how presence and clarity can support resilient, purpose-driven leadership. Designed for those who are in a position to lead organisational learning and change, it will offer time and space for personal reflection, shared dialogue and practical tools.

Approach and Format

The session will be facilitated by Claire Kelly and draws upon education-relevant case studies, well established mindfulness-based practices, and research-informed exercises. It will provide a blend of individual and group learning, with a flexible approach that allows space for adapting to the specific needs and dynamics of the participants.

The core areas of focus will include:

  • Recognising and responding to leadership challenges with awareness and care
  • Cultivating resilience and emotional steadiness for self and others
  • Supporting organisational learning and change through grounded leadership presence
  • Maintaining healthy boundaries and perspective across professional and personal role

Participants will not only learn new ideas but will also experience approaches that can be applied and sustained in the real world of school leadership.

Target Audience: Key Personnel and School Leaders
