The World Association of Lesson Studies (WALS) hosted its sixth Annual International Conference in Singapore from 28 to 30 November 2012. This conference was co-organised by the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Academy of Principals, Singapore (APS), with support from the Ministry of Education, Singapore. Principals Academy provided the project management for the event.
This was the first time that Singapore hosted the conference and it proved to be the most successful with the largest international gathering thus far with about 1,200 registered participants from 24 countries. Almost 750 educators from more than 150 schools and institutions in Singapore took part in the conference to present more than 130 research papers. In addition, about 90 MOE officers participated as well.
