AI Literacy for Schools

The "AI Literacy for Schools: Principles, Practices, and Problems" workshop was held on 9 April 2024 at Orchard Hotel and was led by Dr. Mark Pegrum and Dr. Grace Oakley from the University of Western Australia, recently provided a comprehensive overview of integrating artificial intelligence in education to senior teachers and school leaders. Participants began with a poll on their experience with AI, followed by discussions on AI's development and its ethical implications in teaching. The workshop featured interactive sessions where educators explored various AI tools and collaborated to design subject-specific AI literacy lesson plans. This workshop enhanced participants' understanding of AI applications in education. It fostered a proactive approach to incorporating these technologies into classroom settings, aiming to equip students with the necessary AI competencies for the future.
