Learning with Meaning & Understanding for Clarity

The main purpose of this introductory course is to bring awareness and deepen teachers’ knowledge about how learning can be facilitated for meaning, understanding with clarity. With an increasingly demanding curriculum that focuses primarily on students’ performance, this workshop would focus on the process of learning - so that students learn with meaning, understanding and clarity and provide opportunities to succeed in their learning outcomes as well.

A few pedagogical approaches will be illustrated such as Concept-Based instruction by Lynn Erickson, Visible learning by John Hattie and suggest learning strategies and tools to facilitate and enhance the learning process.

Fundamentally, there will be a vital need to reframe and shift teachers’ beliefs, mindsets and practices from a TEACHING/TELLING to a LEARNING/THINKING classroom - one that emphasizes the Process of learning that fulfils Learning Outcomes as well for our students.
