A One-Day Professional Learning Workshop on the Competency-Driven Growth (CDG) Framework

This one-day workshop builds the capacity of School Leaders and Key Personnel to lead high-quality growth conversations as a core leadership practice under the Competency-Driven Growth (CDG) framework.

Participants will clarify the intent and principles of CDG, address common misconceptions, and develop practical skills to translate competencies into observable behaviours and credible evidence in school contexts. Emphasis is placed on how leaders listen, question, give feedback, and exercise professional judgement, while managing the development–performance tension with clarity and professionalism.

Goals

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Develop a clearer understanding of the intent and principles underpinning CDG
• Translate competencies into observable behaviours and credible evidence with confidence
• Lead more effective and focused growth conversations with teachers
• Exercise professional judgement with greater transparency and consistency
• Manage the development–performance tension inherent in CDG professionally
• Lead CDG implementation within departments with stronger clarity, alignment, and credibility
