How to Achieve Quality Implementation

This session focuses on sustaining continuous learning and achieving quality implementation of evidence-based strategies. Being aware of evidence-based practices is a great starting point however, improved student outcomes will largely depend upon the implementation of evidence-based practices. The focus for this session is identifying ways to increase transfer of adult learning to instructional practice and supporting the quality implementation of evidence-based practices to realize impact.

Participants will be able to:

  • describe and identify six levels of transfer.
  • determine strategies and actionable steps to take to increase teachers’ transfer to practice.
  • understand the research on trust, make connections, draw conclusions, and determine ways to strengthen trusting relationships.
  • identify barriers to the sustained use of evidence-based strategies and determine ways to overcome barriers.
  • assess efficacy enhancing protocols and determine how they could be introduced in their school/context.
  • understand learning designs that help to move professional learning beyond activities to deeper conceptual change.
  • identify effective strategies for sustaining cycles of inquiry and determine ways to ensure teams ‘stay the course’
