AI as Cognitive Extension in the Singapore Education Ecosystem

How can AI truly amplify human thinking rather than replace it? This one-day, hands-on workshop invites leaders from across Singapore’s education system to explore how Artificial Intelligence can extend cognition — perception, reasoning, creativity, and reflection — within the framework of the MOE EdTech Masterplan 2030 and the AI in Education (AIEd) Ethics Framework.

Participants will design sector-specific learning applications that merge existing MOE AI tools (such as the Student Learning Space Adaptive Learning System, Feedback Assistants, and Authoring Copilot) with custom generative tools created inside the ChatGPT ecosystem.

What You Will Experience

  • Conceptual clarity: Understand AI as Cognitive Extension — the next step in technology-enhanced learning.
  • Local alignment: Ground all work in Singapore’s policies, ethics, and digital-learning infrastructure.
  • Sector focus: Work within your own educational sector (Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, JC) to design authentic applications for your learners.
  • Creation in AI: Build a working Custom GPT and an AI Cognition Map illustrating how AI extends specific thinking processes.
  • Peer evaluation: Exchange and review prototypes across sectors using the AIEd Ethics rubric (Agency, Inclusivity, Fairness, Safety).
  • Leadership roadmap: Produce a concise EAI Cognition Roadmap outlining how your sector can responsibly implement AI for cognitive growth.

Key Takeaways

  • A functional Custom GPT prototype linked to your sector’s learning goals.
  • A visual AI Cognition Map showing how AI supports higher-order thinking.
  • A practical EAI Cognition Roadmap aligned with the EdTech Masterplan 2030.
  • Insights from peer feedback and national exemplars.

Learning Outcome

Participants will leave with concrete prototypes and strategic plans to lead AI-enhanced learning in their institutions — ensuring that Singapore’s use of artificial intelligence remains human-centred, ethical, and cognitively enriching.

Who Should Attend

Key personnel, innovation and EdTech leads, and teacher-leaders from Singapore’s Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, and Junior College.
