Workshop Description

At work and in our personal life, how we say it matters a great deal. When we say it skilfully, others feel respected, engaged and inspired. When we say it unskilfully, others feel unheard, disengaged, and become less intrinsically driven. The SoundWave (SW) Model, developed by Kevin Eyre, allows us to know, use and flex our voices in ways that best align with our vision, values and mission.

Participants will complete a SW questionnaire before the workshop. The questionnaire is designed around the SW model. The SW Model lays out the 9 voices in all human talk: inquire, probe, diagnose, advise, advocate, articulate, correct, critique and challenge.

The 9 voices in all human talk

The Report will allow participants to know what their unique top 3 voices are, and how these enable them to be highly effective in certain contexts. The Report also highlights which of the voices may be passive (underused) or accentuated (over-used). When any of the 9 voices are under or overused in a habitual and unconscious manner, we run the risk of reducing our impact and influence as leaders.

Top 3 voices Passive (underused) Accentuated (over-used)

During the workshop, the SW coach practitioner will help participants do a deep-dive into the Model and their Report. Participants will be invited to connect with their own experiences or challenges. In the process, participants will learn that their voices are not fixed. There are voice navigation tools that can be used to make a potentially ‘difficult’ conversation much more effective and fulfilling than we thought possible.

This workshop deepens self-awareness. It provides the language, the concepts and the tools for participants to be the culture-builder, leader and communicator they desire to be.
