Josef Lee is a designer and visual storyteller based in Singapore. At times, he also puts on multiple hats as creative director, illustrator, animator, comic artist, educator, and author/artist of children's picture books.
With almost 20 years of experience in in the design industry, Josef has garnered over 20 local and international design awards, including eight PromaxBDA GOLD, nine PromaxBDA SILVER and two PromaxBDA BRONZE Awards that honours the best in entertainment marketing and design.
Josef founded MOJO in 2008 and successfully led the studio to win over 30 local and international awards. Selected accolades recognised for business excellence include '2012/2013 Singapore Brands Award (Innovation Brand Award) and 'Promising SME 500 Award 2012 (Platinum Category)'.
In his free time, Josef enjoys writing and drawing short, illustrated stories, and sharing them online. In April 2017, he published his first picture-book - 'Wake Me Up At Happyland' via a crowdfunding campaign. Since then, his works have attracted the attention of various publishers from Taiwan and China. Within 2 years, Josef has published a total of nine picture-books and one novel adaptation.
Josef is currently an adjunct lecturer with NAFA where he teaches students from the Diploma in Illustration with Animation. A passionate educator and speaker, he often participates in public engagements such as Singapore Writers Festival 2019, and Today at Apple on subjects ranging from picture books to creativity and storytelling.
