Dr Adrian Bertolini

Dr Adrian Bertolini is the Founder and Director of Learning of Intuyu Consulting and the author of Igniting STEM Learning: A Guide to Designing an Authentic Primary School STEM Program. He has a PhD in Engineering, taught Aerospace Engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne, and worked in the NGO sector running educational programs for schools around Australia. Adrian has worked extensively with schools across Australia including being a critical friend for curriculum and pedagogical change projects, coached principals and leadership teams in the Government, Catholic, and Lutheran Education systems, and delivered thought provoking professional learning on STEM learning, leadership, curriculum planning, metacognition, critical thinking and self-regulation.

Adrian has also led transformational leadership programs and coached adults to develop projects that made a difference in their communities. Some of the people he has coached or taught have gone on to start ventures that now make a difference in the world. These include Marita Cheng (founder of Robogals), the founders of Engineers without Borders Australia, Jacqueline Savage (founder of MedCorp) and Guido Pozzebon (founder of One Umbrella, which led to FareShare) to name a few.

In recent years Adrian also founded the It Takes a Spark STEM conference, which currently runs in four states around Australia. The intent of the conferences is to ignite leadership and passion in students and their teachers for STEM to nurture the problem-solving, creative and entrepreneurial mindset that makes a difference. The conferences are crowd-sourced affairs, with sessions run by students and teachers from schools local to the conference as well as local industry, organisations, charities, TAFEs and universities.
